How Much We Care About Nutrition Labels

Maximum Shoppers doesn't have awareness to nutrition labels than they think or even health aware shoppers who read nutrition labels pay much less attention to the information than they think they do, according to a new study.

Researchers found that 33% of study participants said they approximately always look at calorie content on labels, but only 9% of them looked at the calorie count of almost all of the products during an experiment.

And an eye-tracking device determined that only about 1 percent of participants looked at the information about total fat, trans fat, sugar & serving size on nearly all labels, even though 31% of participants said that they almost always look at the total fat content, 26% said the same regarding serving size, 24% said they look at sugar content & 20% said they look at trans fat content.

German Chancellor Angela Merkel expects breakthrough on euro zone crisis Wednesday

Euro zone debt crisis on Wednesday, after EU finance ministers made progress in talks on recapitalizing banks.

[ I believe that the finance ministers made progress, so that we can achieve our ambitious targets by Wednesday ], Merkel told reporters.

Euro zone countries are working on a plan that involves leveraging the euro zone bailout fund, recapitalizing European banks & putting together a second financing package for Greece that entails deeper losses for private investors.

Euro zone leaders hope the measures will ease market anxiety over euro zone sovereign debt & put an end to the two years old crisis that now threatens the global economy.

Euro zone leaders meet on Sunday to discuss the package but real decisions will only come at the next summit on Wednesday.

The BMW i3 is a well resolved all round concept, with every detail conceived & optimized to fulfill its eventual purpose. Central to its design is the innovative Life drive architecture, the key to the BMW i3 Concept's appeal as a light, safe & spacious car. Innovative use of materials & intelligent light weight design not only enable the i3 Concept to travel long distances on a single charge & provide superb safety in the event of a collision, they also help give the car its excellent driving dynamics. The secure arrangement of the battery in the Drive module gives the vehicle a very low center of gravity & optimum weight distribution. The electric motor over the rear axle which generates output of 125 kW/170 hp & impressive torque of 250 Nm (184 lb ft) from a standstill & a small turning circle combine to deliver pleasingly crisp driving characteristics & give the driver a very immediate experience of the BMW i3 Concept's lightweight design. The BMW i3 Concept accelerates from 0 to 60 km/h (37 mph) in under four seconds & from rest to 100 km/h (62 mph) in less than eight seconds. The extremely direct sensation at the wheel is expressed in outstanding agility at low speeds & during turning man-oeuvres, & makes parking in tricky situations that much easier.

The Life module conjures up a feeling of space inside the car more generous than even the latest conversion vehicles can offer. Select materials lend the open & airy cabin a lounge like character. The use of renewable raw materials is another defining characteristic of the interior, offering passengers a further means of experiencing the sustainability of the vehicle. Elements of the instrument panel & door paneling are visibly made from natural fibers, while the naturally tanned leather of the seats creates a lounge style ambiance. Together, these materials provide an appealing contrast to the clear, "floating" forms of the instrument panel & door elements, & lend the interior a strikingly modern feel. With the drive components located in the Drive module, there is no center tunnel running through the passenger compartment. This allows the two front & two rear seats to be connected with each other by a continuous seat surface, which allows for ease of entry & exit via the front passenger side of the car & means you can park up close to walls, for example. With four seats, wide opening opposing [coach] doors, boot capacity of around 200 liters & an additional functional compartment in the front, the BMW i3 Concept is neatly equipped for the demands of everyday use.

However, the electric motor developed by BMW & the optimized lightweight design of the Life Drive architecture cannot take all the credit for imbuing the car with such efficiency & enabling it to travel such long distances on each charge. Indeed, the ability of the car to recoup energy while on the move & special range extending functions, such as ECO PRO mode, also add miles to the clock. With ECO PRO mode activated, all the vehicle functions operate with maximum efficiency. For example, the accelerator mapping is tweaked to limit the output summoned when the driver flexes his right foot, & the climate control functions also use as little energy as possible. Added to which, sophisticated aerodynamics & slim, low rolling resistance wheels minimize resistance to the car's forward progress & maximize its range.

Innovative connectivity functions create a seamless connection between the BMW i3 Concept & its customers' lives outside the car. Remote functions accessible via a smartphone enable owners to find their vehicles, flag up nearby charging stations, allow battery charging & preconditioning at the touch of a button & supply information on the current status of the vehicle. A New universal charging system for electric vehicles

The worldwide infrastructure of charging stations for electric vehicles[EV] may seem overwhelming, you know what would make it even more challenging? If each station had to separately cater to each make of EV on the road think of how many different styles of mobile phone chargers are currently out there, for instance, & then picture that applying to cars. Fortunately a consortium of automakers has developed the Combined Charging System that will allow any one vehicle to charge its batteries using a variety of different charging methods.

The system was developed by Germany's Audi, BMW, Daimler, Porsche, & Volkswagen, working in partnership with America's Ford & General Motors.

It consists of a single interface on the vehicle, which is compatible with methods such as one-phase AC-charging, fast three-phase AC/DC charging at home & ultra~fast DC charging at public stations. This is intended to make EV development a less complex process, as vehicles won't need to incorporate multiple inlets, nor will their drivers need to seek out specific charging stations. Instead, all electric vehicles will be able to recharge at all stations.

The technology also features a charging communication system, along with an electrical & safety architecture, that will work with any vehicle using the system.

The Combined Charging System is being demonstrated at the 15th International VDI Congress & Exhibition [Electronic Systems for Motor Vehicles], which takes place this Wednesday & Thursday in Baden~Baden. It should be ready for deployment in the auto industry by the middle of next year.

Obama Fried Chicken !!!

Featuring a grinning picture of Obama with his eyes closed in place of the famous Colonel, a KFC in Beijing, China is paying homage to our country’s president with “Obama Fried Chicken.

Apparently this isn’t the first time KFC China has utilized the president’s image to promote its chicken. A commercial in Hong Kong featured an Obama lookalike to promote a chicken sandwich.

On the face of it, it clearly has a racist connotation, though one probably wouldn’t be wrong in assuming there was no racist intent behind the advertisement & name change. It’s probably nothing more than a misguided attempt at selling chicken.

Man, this would so not fly in America, Wait, it already happened? There is no hope.
